Smoke Management Systems
Most fire deaths are caused by the inhaling of smoke, not by direct contact with fire or the exposure to heat.
Smoke management systems are used to control the movement of smoke inside a building with the intention of providing safety and a clear path of egress to building occupants in the event of a fire. This is done by the use of smoke compartmentation and the operation of fans as well as pressurisation systems.
We develop fire test procedures to determine fan operation in the event of a fire. This procedure can be extended to include all equipment in the building – including lifts, pumps, sprinklers etc. We also offer to produce specifications for the upgrade of existing smoke management systems.
